I think roleplay games should have a special roleplay tag, and if a setting is changed to block games with the roleplay tag those games can no longer be played. This way if a parent sees inapropriate scinarios coming up on their child’s screen, they are simply able to block roleplay games and never worry about it.

Kreek gets the point.
Roblox is a platform with millions of games, making it almost impossible to moderate every single thing.
Most of the time with the games, it’s usually the players who are making it inappropriate. Such as online dating, etc.
The parents seem to not get the point. If they see that their children are experiencing something inappropriate, they shouldn’t be calling out to everyone and roblox like that. If they see a particular game “harming” their children in offensive ways, they should just tell their children to stay away from it. Maybe tell them why, but if they don’t listen, their child is the one who is not listening, not the whole platform.

Honestly, parents are just trying to help their children out, and may misunderstand some parts. These games also can’t do much about this problem, considering it’s usually the players.

Roblox also can’t rate all the games, if you think about how the platform has millions to billions of games, and many players. The developers also can’t do much, except fixing glitches and bugs and moderating the games. The players got to understand what is happening around them, and how they may affect others by doing these inappropriate actions.

If roblox wants to step in to help, they can inform the developers to moderate their games, or add in more settings. Roblox has a moderation team, but most likely not enough to moderate the whole platform. This is probably where their bad moderation comes out. I can agree with that, as there are many inappropriate things happening in roblox games.

Basically, please understand what is going around you, and think before acting in a way that may affect others.

But yeah. Huge respect to Kreek for helping out in the conflict.

One thing I love about kreek is that he doesn’t just immediately call out the parent for being a boomer but also tries to understand the parents’ point of views as well

I think roblox should add a feature to block certain types of games. For example: Roleplay games, shooter games, violent games. Although the ratings are there, this still happens. A developer can set multiple types to say what the game is like. Players can report a game if it doesn’t have the right tag so roblox can put it to it’s correct category. Then, parents can block games such as these.

Well I can understand why the developer’s did this I mean the whole point of making a game is to make it well known the best game out there but the parent has a point about some of the so called “kid friendly” games when you turn on the kid friendly thing so I think that roblox should start rating the games themselves to fix the issue of the so called “kid friendly”games

I think that that parent did what she thought was right. Even though you can’t restrict players actions on Roblox, (as I was once called out for being a so called _____ in a game) but there are actions that Roblox can take to prevent this. Games that are 13+ shouldn’t be allowed to play even if you don’t have parental settings. If you set your birthday to some point in 2015, your account will be under 13+ and you can’t access those games.

personally i think thats a dumb idea to rate roleplay games 13+ since that type of stuff as said in the video is caused by the player and not the game itself.also innappropriate things as shown in the video can happen in most multiplayer roleplay games and maybe even single player (with a npc),so no i dont think they should, one more thing i want to point is that parent should monitor what and when their children play to make sure its safe but also i think roblox could improve this by making it so that people around the account age set will most likely be in a server with me(for example if my account age is set to 9 the people in the game is around the account age of 9)thats just my thoughts from a roblox player

i agree on both her part and not. though there are inappropriate things on rp games, that does not mean the whole of roblox does. sure, it can happen in any game. but parents try to help their children. if anything, its like real life. any real life person could do anything anytime to any person. in roblox, though, its not like there are cameras sensing what you do. (besides chat) so no, rp games should not be 13+, but there should be a certain option to block a game. like you block a player.

roblox should either
a: record everything happening in games also yes i know roblox can get called out for this
b: make it so that everything that gets created on roblox has to be approved first in order for the creator to publish it onto roblox but this is most likely a very slow process
c: go full on elon musk and hire an elite moderation team. after all, theyre a billion dollar company

I have to say, role-playing games are normally inappropriate, yet some have models which make it hard to make the game inappropriate. But I have to say, it depends. Developers should be looking out for inappropriate actions. I will say I would want players visiting my game, but rating it all ages when there’s inappropriate actions involved. I never really noticed this until I watched this video. Thank you for explaining it!

If roblox sets a higher age limit, some role play games would definitely be going down. Roblox should probably make a tag for “Roleplay games” in the age restrictions, and let parents decide if they can turn if off or leave it on.

Ur right that rp games like meepcity have that but some ppl actually stop kids doing it

I joined meepcity to see a bunch of ppl grouping up stopping ppl that were inappropriate so I think we might be able to stop it as a community, working together

they should just make it mandatory to add an email to your account instead of just giving you like access to commenting on items, and liking games, also giving you a free hat. that way they could make it so that the email gets daily reports of every game your child has joined, along with every single chat message they have sent. Also they should have a thing where when you make your account you choose types of games that you arent allowed to access, such as fps games, rp games, or others

logically speaking i think the best approach is to make some sort of manually done list and add it as the HIGHEST parental control setting for games, that way parents can use it if they’re *really* concerned about the games

I still feel like parents should monitor their kids so they don’t go into games that involve this kind of stuff as well as I feel like parents should be able to blacklist games no matter what age rating they have. Even I wouldn’t mind being able to blacklist games as someone who really despises those kind of games. I also wish Roblox moderation was better so it would be easier to report people for inappropriate behavior. I personally feel like Roblox should step it up so kids and parents and especially people who don’t like those games feel safe on the platforrm.

I also think that Roblox should have other types of ratings. Not just all ages, 9+ or 13+.

They should probably add a option to block all roleplay games in the settings like a extra age rating devs need to turn on if they have a roleplay game. (You need to activate it in the settings manually.
