If TikTok was just restricted to only China being able to use it, then the world would collectively regain 50 of their lost IQ from that website.
The world is so much better off in my opinion. In fact: I say the same for most other social media platforms.

As a person who has been using the internet for more than 18 years and that tried literally hundreds of websites and apps, I have never used a worst platform than TikTok. Oversimplistic interface, lack of important features and the character limit of just 150 for comments. It wouldnt be that bad if TikTok wouldnt have insane censorship. Comments are getting hidden or removed for no reason at all, looks like most of the words from our vocabulary are forbidden there and we must communicate at a kindergarten level. I think it will be no lost if TikTok would be banned.

India has banned 2 years ago and we are still alive
All Indians happily supported this move by our government 🔥🇮🇳
The big thing is how TikTok is vastly different with the things that are shown/promoted in the US compared to China
It’s already banned here in India mainly because of data theft by China, but still if we consider the addiction problem, it will and is still going on with other social media like Instagram reels, yt shorts,etc….
As an Indian, who has experienced tik tok ban I’ll tell you what happened:-
1) everyone shifted to reels and YouTube shorts
They do have side effects on mental health because many content makes people believe they have anxiety/depression.
2) Screen time will not change because there are better alternatives
3) yea the last part is true. India became the most populated country in 3 years (after the ban) LMAO
Jokes apart but that would happen even if tiktok was not banned anyways
As a person who doesn’t uses tick tock I can confirm that it will be the best thing in the century.

I still don’t use TikTok. the banning of TikTok would not affect me at all. The only social media I consume is really Youtube, and Facebook.
I have addictions, but I can say for certain that TikTok ain’t one of them.

I’m 14 and vow to never download it, I keep telling my friends to stop using it, the fact that they literally don’t try to hide the fact that they are invading your personal lives only shows how much leverage they have
