Arun feels like that one grandfather that knows all the secrets and myths and randomly tells them
Never used TikTok and never will… And it’s good to see content creators like you alerting people of it’s harms!
What’s most scary to me is that YouTube is noticing that TikTok is getting away with the unfair treatment to creators and they’re beginning to replicate it..
Deleting TikTok was the best decision I’ve ever made. It was fun for a bit when it was still in the growing phase, but as it got bigger it just got worse, both in content and for my mental health. Deleting the app and not getting hooked before it exploded in popularity is 100% a decision I’m glad I made.
Using your huge platform to share something that everybody should know is a great thing to do. Love you man.
Greats vids! always enjoyed them. would really love this to be more news-worthy with evidences or sources of those facts. Otherwise, like many other said, these do feel a bit like a grandfather randonly tells the secrets and myths.
I think TikTok has a positive impact. On it I’ve seen moving stories, artists doing things I never imagined possible, scientific content, all in short easily digestible format. Of course there is the garbage, but you can learn to censor it
Great honest content as always Arun, thank you 🙏
This channel makes mind-blowing content and I wanna keep things simple all the time when there isn’t too much complex things buzzing in my mind
For the Tourette’s one, people see it as cool, quirky, cute, it’s fashionable to them the way Victorian people see the effects from Tuberculosis as pretty because of the cold look they have from the symptoms. I theorize these teenagers pretending to have Tourette’s because they want sympathy, they want whatever benefits that I don’t know that’s coming from it. I can’t say all of them faked it but there exist cases where people pretend to have it.
I’m so glad I already knew about these things. And it’s actually much worse than that (I won’t get into too much detail but basically they can put certain videos on blacklists, and manipulate your feed so that you don’t see things they don’t want you to see)
I’ve never installed Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or tiktok and don’t plan on doing so.
12:26 I have followed you for so many years Auron, you have been the most honest and chill YouTuber in the eyes of millions, but what you say on this part doesn’t match reality, I use TikTok just to view content and I see a lot of ugly and poor people going viral, a lot of poor people that now have gotten paid for doing some sort of publicity to local businesses, etc., I have witnessed that.
I am starting to think this video is a little bias.
I totally love how you broke this all down. Keep up the awesome work!
Most of these challenges I’ve never heard of or watched before on Tiktok and even if it did pop up I would skip them anyways. The only way I would ever know about these stuff is through the tiktok new channels or whatever they are considered where they warn against them instead. It’s strange for people to see people hate on the tiktok algorithm for showing them what they pay attention to the most, it’s as if tiktok shows us a side of ourselves we don’t want to see
Regardless of the negative points, It’s still a great app for people with common sense
Good video and whilst I understood most of the behaviours go on, seeing them all grouped together like that brings home how harmful a platform it is. I have to ask though: having lambasted TikTok as being morally reprehensible in the way they do business, and stating that their algorithms proactively worsen people’s state of mind in several ways: Why exactly do you have an account on that platform? Surely you must vote with your feet and refuse to support a business (by being a “creator” on that platform) that acts in such a way?
I just wanted to express my gratitude for all the valuable information and helpful tutorials you provide. Your channel has been a lifesaver for me as I navigate the ever-evolving world of technology. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to educating your viewers. Keep up the great work!
Just the fact that Tiktok is the “international version” of Douyin is a big no for me. Just like all the other apps like Wechat or the Weibo International app, the iQiyi streaming to name a few.
I could never get past how intrusive the data collection on this app was, and was the only teenager, probably in my school, who didnt install tiktok
This channel makes mind-blowing content and I wanna keep things simple all the time when there isn’t too much complex things buzzing in my mind
I’m surprised you didn’t mention that journalists’ locations were tracked by TikTok, ostensibly so the app could work out who from inside the company was handing them data.
Your videos are among the best edited videos on YouTube. I know you put a lot of time and effort into that, so here are my compliments.
As the old saying goes: Tiktok looses gains.
Glad to see by reading the comments that I’m not the only one who is anti-TikTok. I can think of people in my family who are outright addicted to it and for some reason nobody cares.
Glad to see creators like you are making people aware of the dangers by these platforms. I’ve disabled access to my camera & microphone on Tik Tok. I only use it to view content I’m interested in
