TikTok Banned On All House-Issued Mobile Devices
#TikTok #Congress #Socialmedia
Ban TikTok from America
In most normal world, if an employee uses company issued device to do something other than their job, they would be in trouble. No grownup adult employee should have tiktok on their work phones in the first place.
Banning TikTok outright would be beneficial for society in general.
It needs to go
But not on their other phones. And lemme guess…disabling TikTok on your phone may not be enough. It’s done it’s job. My question is, does TikTok have It’s own embedded version of the Borg Queen? You know, cute but spooky?
If you look at the information TikTok collects, nobody should download it.
Work phones, yes. Personal, no.
Sometimes when we are bored, we just want time to pass. Don’t watch the clock and waste time, do what it does. Keep going.
Why was it ever allowed for TikTok to be installed on a government-issued device? Those devices are issued for the explicit purpose of conducting official government business. They are not for anyone’s personal entertainment. Unless there is official government business being conducted on TikTok (as there is on Twitter), there is absolutely no reason for TikTok to be installed an ANY government-issued device, full stop.
In case anyone is wondering, this is not an anti-TikTok position. This is about separating your work life from your personal life and about respecting your employer’s property. Everyone is free to install TikTok on their own personal devices and I have no problem with that. I don’t understand why people are making a big deal about the fact that TikTok is run by a company in China. A lot of companies in China make the products we use nowadays, including our communication devices. Why should this one company be treated any differently?
I want to know when was the last time the Chinese government asked TikTok for data and TikTok refused. I want to know what happened then….
That honestly shouldn’t be a big deal in my opinion. Most people who broadcast on tik tok that I see are in their 20’s or younger. It’s strange to me to see middle-aged, and old people use that app even if it’s for important reasons. I don’t have my own tik tok, but that’s just something I observed. We’ve got more than enough social media platforms already from snapchat to instagram to facebook to twitter. Do we honestly need another new social media platform?
Twitter accounts should be banned for all elected officials. Why are Senators tweeting? If they want to stay in touch with their constituents they can hold a press briefing or go home and have town halls with them in their state. They should have voters, not “followers”.
I don’t know why they were restricted years ago. Florida State employees have huge mandates. No outside use on any phones or laptops etc. Meaning, do you jobs. The park service use to get penalized for weather? Facebook was a no no and yet, most parks have a Facebook pages.
Adult politicians shouldn’t be using a child’s video app.
GROW UP AND BE POLITICIANS
They shouldn’t be screwing around on TikTok with their work phones anyway.
There’s plenty of other platforms to flock to if TikTok is banned 🙄
For the majority of American history, there was no such thing as social media. We didn’t suffer without it. We prospered. We did fine. Just get rid of it — it’s a useless vanity.
Good idea. Chinese owned, you can’t be too careful especially, at this time.
The thing about younger voters is that there’s like seven of them.
glad to hear this bill was passed, that was quite wise… well done…
