A University of Idaho professor is suing a TikTok user for defamation after the creator has wrongly accused her of being involved in the unsolved killings of four college students. The lawsuit says the creator has published dozens of videos tarnishing the professor’s reputation. NBC’s Steve Patterson reports.

Imagine someone going on social media and spreading false information…..hope politicians don’t follow suit….if they did there’d be legal ramifications for such behaviour, right? 🙄
Tried and convicted by social media, popular opinion, it doesn’t go that way especially for one that reads Tarot cards and say oh you’re guilty.
I wonder if she read her tarot cards, they would’ve informed her that she was going to have a lawsuit against her.

Taro card evidence is definitely admissible in a court of law — NOT.
Surprised she never saw one of her cards with an image of her falling off a cliff, all while juggling wearing a jester hat.
Teach her a lesson that what you say has consequences, especially something so drastic and being so direct with accusations.

Finally some of these creators if you can call reporting news creating are getting what they deserve.
So she’s a psychic on TikTok but didn’t see a lawsuit coming if she keeps creating accusations videos.
What a nasty thing to do to someone at random.
Difficult to win? This is a slam dunk defamation decision if I’ve ever seen one lol.
I hope she wins. These Trash Tok people need to held accountable for making “content” to generate cash at other’s expense. This tragedy should not be making these losers money.

The professor was kind sending two letters of cease and desist. Hopefully she wins.
I’m so tired of seeing these psychic / tarot card readers always exploiting a tragedy for their own attention. I’m just glad someone is taking action back. They really think they helping when in reality they hurting not only the people they acccusing but the family’s who lost a loved one.

She doesn’t have to prove anything. A random person can’t accuse another random person and make them a suspect.
The school ought to be paying for this lawsuit as she would have never been exposed to these accusations if it were not for her job
These accusations are so irresponsible. I hope the prof wins and sets an example so that other social media characters think twice about behaving like this. It’s a disgrace.
