If it is genuinely at risk then this is the best decision. The kids can use another app to do the same things.

When someone mentioned the scanner was stolen from the store, this young boy told his mom, ” that’s a tik tok thing”….

So, people want their news thru a CCP filter, and not even know it? Alibaba got slapped. You don’t think it will happen to Dance? And yes I trust US companies more than those in China. At least the incentive is money, not a foreign motherland.

While you’re at it, create workshops and school courses that teach general safety when using social media. Too many dangerous trends and malicious environments that cause people to go off the deep end.

Tbh it’s probably a good thing regardless if they are spying or not this platform has single-handedly ruined the attention spans of an entire generation

Ironically, they probably all have smart phones. That in itself, is more than enough to have locations and the amount of things the phone ask you to allow before using basic functions is ridiculous and people mock old dinosaur cell phones smh. Typical, America let’s blame a foreign company or country for the same things we do but let’s not look at the things we do people might want us to actually, do something that might help people who’s not overly wealthy.

I read the bill and I am not clear if it would allow for the company to be sold. It seems like it may allow a sale of the company to a US entity as had been proposed before, which would likely be the best outcome.

I understand why so many people would be upset if this happened. There’s a whole lot more that needs to happen with regards to social media regulation, including the addictive business formula that most social media has followed with tiktok. What they fail to mention is how quickly misinformation spreads on tiktok. And that’s the crux of the problem. The app seems to prioritize a lot of problematic stuff. Not to mention social scientists have sounded the alarm on how damaging it can be your mental health (along with social media in general).

Tiktok is so stupid. Yes it’s funny and entertaining but it’s a platform that does nothing but waste your time. Social media is dying anyway. And it has ruined many people’s ability to have patience and focus. It is an addiction.

Never in my life have I wish for an app to be banned so bad! That app is so toxic and caused me so much stress and mentally drained me for most of 2022
