For those who where wondering (probably no one) the cast saw (2:23) can’t cut your skin, because the blades go side to side instead of around (like most people assume) so the thing its cutting has to be textured, like the outside of the cast, for it to cut through it. The saw can’t get through the inner layer of the cast or cut your skin so it’s totally safe (as long as you don’t put it near your face obviously 😀).

taking a cast off feels weird also the blade thingy doesnt cut the skin, when i took mine off they showed me it didnt cut on their hand it only cuts hard enough to cut the cast
The saws made for cutting casts have to have a certain amount of resistance against them to cut, so they will cut through the cast material, but they will not cut into flesh. As long as you’re not being stupid with it, it’s not going to cut you, when you’re getting your cast cut off.

2:25 i broke my elbow just enough once to warrant having a cast for three weeks and the person who took it off held the blade to her skin for a few seconds before cutting to prove that it wouldn’t hurt me. it’s safe, don’t worry.
