I’m actually so happy Dhar Mann did a video on this. Back in middle school, there was a time that anime was looked down upon and people thought people who watched anime were weird. I was too scared to wear anything anime until high school but I know that social media had changed society’s view on anime. This video warms my heart…I wish this video came out when I was younger

I am a person who has never watched anime in my life but some ppl rlly enjoy it and someone at my school loves anime and he used to get teased and “bullied” because of anime so thx Dhar for sharing light on this situation
I love anime and japan itself. Those people seem like they’ve never watched it before, it is truly amazing. I haven’t been made fun if bc of it except this one time when a classmate called me the “anime kid” but this isn’t about me. A lot of people like it and everyone is the same no matter what you like or not ❤️

Watching this give me such a throwback to my life, I’m currently in highschool and drawing anime is my thing, it gets me bullied but this video makes me so hopeful for the future.

This is a really cool throwback to an actual story that happened to me. I think I was really excited about anime at the time, so I had my phone wallpaper as my favourite show at the time, and I would draw my favourite characters on paper in my free time. I was made fun of a lot and I was considered weird by a lot of people because of it so I ended up becoming less quiet about my hobbies and interest in anime instead of expressing it, but this video is a reminder to everyone who is afraid of others judging them for their tastes, just be yourself, find the people who share your same interests and stick around with them because those are true friends. Good video as always.
Awesome video Dhar Mann, anime is awesome although it’s not for everyone we should still respect what others like. I normally kept that I liked anime to myself at school but good to see it more mainstream now.
This story really resonated with me. Imagine being a black kid in the 2000s who was into anime. People say things like “You like that Chinese stuff” or “You tryna be white or Asian”. I also unfortunately had paranoid southern Baptist evangelical Christian parents who found anime weird and banned me from watching it among other things like Harry Potter.
Thanks so much for doing this video! I relate to so many things in this video. I felt like I was almost the main character herself! Growing up poor and being into anime was my favorite thing growing up was my reality. Even at my late 20s. I’m still watching anime and reading manga. It’s just so cool! Never let someone else tell you something is dumb. If you like it then that’s all that matters! Anime has brought me much joy in life!! No matter how much I was bullied in school. Anime was my hobby and outlet and still is today!
