Okay so the tennis ball hack to clean up body oil in the pool is actually the same idea used by a foundation called Matter of Trust, where they use leftover hair donated from salons and individuals and they use the hair donated to create mats that they use to clean up oil spills. It works so well because human hair absorbs hair like crazy and it’s way better for the environment than other tools used to clean up oil spills because the hair mats don’t have plastics or other synthetic materials.

10:40 LOL It’s moments like this that I wonder if Kris’ parents or grandparents watch her videos, if mine saw me like this I would die inside (because they’re kind of restricted and traditional, can´t have fun around them…). But it’s moments like this in Kris’s videos that make me have a good laugh 🙂

As an Australian who’s always at the beach, freezing your water bottle lasts longer because the ice is bigger and reaches more surface area while still allowing for more water 👍

The fitted bed sheet at the beach (or the park… or any picnic location) is actually great! It does NOT mean it doesn’t get sand on it. But it definitely works.
It’s great at the park for picnics or the littlest of humans to play in without being directly on the grass.
It also seems to help keep ants off the picnic blanket (although this could just be coincidence and/or luck) 😆

The snorkel mask one does work. We were taught that one by our tour guides on a glass bottom boat snorkel tour out on Coral Bay, tried it and it works really well. The snorkel masks have a thin coating of plastic on the glass on the inside, the lighter melts this away and the toothpaste works as a fine scrub to clean off any remnants. Couple that with a mixture of watered down baby shampoo sprayed onto the glass just before going into the water and you get crystal clear viewing. It also helps to make sure you have a mask that fits you well and to try to remember not to keep taking it off and putting it back on – once you’re in the water, even when you come back up for a breather or to talk to someone, if you plan to keep swimming, best to leave the mask on to reduce the fogging.
Other options: If you aren’t planning on diving down under the water or are prone to anxiety attacks, a full-face snorkel might be a good alternative. You need to make sure it’s a good fit and probably avoid the ones with neoprene straps in favour of silicone, but for casual snorkelling it’s designed to be a bit more comfortable since it doesn’t have a mouthpiece to bite down on, and the airflow system in those masks is designed to keep it fog-clear. Personally, I prefer the traditional mask, but during the summer I do a lot of snorkelling and take a lot of photos that have me diving below the waterline, which those masks are not really designed to do.
Other-other alternative: For anyone who is extremely not okay with having something restrictive over their face or is just not a particularly strong swimmer but still wants to see below the water, there are boogie boards with handles and a clear acrylic porthole window, so you can float on the surface and look down at the sea floor below.

After spending all day cleaning my house and flopping the couch exhausted, watching Kris is the prefect unwinding. 🥰

The Coke tab thing is pretty much the exact same thing my family has always done with jandals and bread tags!! It works (at least with bread tags), but not for long 🙂
