I’ve seen a lot of content on TikTok about “dark humor” recently, so I wanted to discuss the recent events and my overall thoughts on the subject. Enjoy!

Leave a comment & let me know what you think! I am in no way the judge of what you can and can’t joke about, I just shared some of my personal opinions so if you disagree that’s all good lol

Kurtis going out of his way to put a TW in his video and letting fans know where to skip to is one of the many reasons why I love him

Fun Fact: Dark humor mostly rose during the Cold War for people to cope with the horrible experiences that they faced time and time again. *Which means dark humor is meant to make light of your own experiences, not to put someone else down for theirs.*

If you’re making a joke about s*xual assault, the butt of the joke should be the abuser, not the victim. I thought this was common sense? It’s not funny to be like “omg look at this person’s highly traumatic experience lol!”
The most ironic part is that these fanboys scream snowflake and call people sensitive for just saying “that joke isn’t funny, I didn’t laugh.” when that’s literally the most snowflake behavior possible.

I originally made the one sketch about Buzz assuming that he’s never done stand up before but upon doing further research, I found an old set of his from like 8 years ago that had some jokes that were actually kinda funny. Idk what happened in the past 8 years lol but yeah just thought I’d clear it up!

the issue with these people is that they don’t realize that the key word in dark humour is HUMOUR, what they do is just dark.

Ok but imagine a “suspicious pride” that was just like regular pride but everyone’s wearing those glasses with the fake nose and mustache, I’d go

“the boys” act like we didn’t all learn context clues in kindergarten…. like obviously a 😐 face implies that you don’t like something

They don’t even make it funny either😐 It has to be funny, not just “I hate gay people lol” it has to be funny😀👍🏻

Me: *has empathy for people other than me who go through other struggles and may be put down by the world for being in the minority*
Self proclaimed dark humor comedians: “WOW WE GOT A BLIZZARD HERE” ❄❄❄

i just hate the fact that people pass off offensive things as jokes, like no. you are just being a prick. dark humor is joking about YOUR trauma, not anyone elses, YOURS. An example would be me making a trauma joke about being harassed for being LGBTQ+. People just make no sense

I find the “Dark humor” crowd is 20% people who *actually* make good dark humor and 80% miserable little boys who don’t actually MAKE any humor but FIND humor in seeing what makes people react in disgust.
It’s a sad coping mechanism & cry for attention in those who are incredibly lonely.

The people who call people snowflakes are so dumb like “i dont like racists or homophobes” “I found another ❄️”
