Donald Trump threatens to ban TikTok in the United States

The Chinese technology company ByteDance has agreed to divest itself of TikTok’s U.S. operations after President Donald Trump threatened to ban the app.

On Friday, Trump said he would sign an executive order banning TikTok in the U.S., putting pressure on ByteDance to sell the popular short-video app.

Following the president’s comments, negotiations took place between the White House, ByteDance and potential buyers of TikTok, including Microsoft, in which the Chinese tech firm agreed to hand over control of TikTok in the U.S. to Microsoft.

Under the deal, Microsoft would be in charge of protecting all U.S. user data on the app.

I think we need to go back to actually buying a newspaper … One that hasn’t got any political ties

The fact about every tech companies and their programs across the world – if it’s not based on service providing and data gathering purposes, then it is NOT a tech company. The banning of TikTok maybe motivated by many aspects, but in my opinion, Trump launched the possible ban right away after Microsoft’s plan to purchase it played a huge part as the Capital Hill held anti-trust conference with four biggest tech companies this week. To a politician, putting too much power upon domestic tech companies is way more troublesome than a foreign tech company/app.

I was going to mention the notion that maybe it will bring people back to the real world. But, then thought about how many other distractions we still have.

I see a lot of people talking about how he wants to ban Tik Tok when they spy on kids but they see twitter, google and Facebook are gathering information. He wants to ban Tik Tok because the app is from the Chinese and they could be spying on us and since they are communist they probably have a lot of tactics they are up to.

Look at all the blind hate towards Trump. In an attempt to seek what you call “freedom”, you want America to descend into Anarchy and then rule by China. You don’t have a clue what it’s like to live in under Chinese rule

Even if it’s Microsoft, will tik tok users still be able to request tickets to Trump events?

If Trump executive order for TikTok is any better then his pandemic plan was. TikTok will be laughable.

You can ban anything you want so far it’s not crypto currency. Because this pandemic has taught the world that cash is not the ultimate option for trading. The world needs more of crypto currency.
