3:49 Prime Night
this was literally all over the place- I tried watching it but it was just so awkward the WHOLE. TIME. and a few points they had “technical difficulties” it was insane.
The words “TikTok” and “game show” have been in the same sentence one too many times
As much as I like the more serious topics you cover, any content you make should be done so with your enjoyment in mind! Keep making the content you like and I know that me and the other 667k subscribers will continue to watch
Jesus, THANK YOU for not rehashing the drama. I love the fun shit. It’s a nice reprieve.
I’m so genuinely happy that you were able to involve fans in a video shoot without being put in an uncomfortable position that’s sick. Also I’m glad you’re covering lighter topics, it’s really easy to feel hopeless if you look at too much negative news. Good for the creator and the viewers 💙
i feel bad for the host. she was just trying to hold it all together because apparently this massive company couldn’t be a bit more professional and get things figured out before hand.
It’s always weird seeing creators I like do questionable partnerships. I know they need that bag, but this is a strange one. Atsuko Okatsuka I’ve seen before, and I feel like she’s better than this, and seeing her be a part of this really threw me off.
Tbh a tiktok gameshow made by amazon doesn’t sound like something that should exist 💀
It’s really interesting you mention Red Nose Day as a walgreens thing, in England its quite a big day for schools and a lot of companies (albeit mostly because at school it’s one of the few days you don’t have to wear uniform) but its a foundation in most people’s childhood memories:)
I quite liked the host, i feel like she did her best with a horrible, untested show, and it seemed like whatever teleprompter she was reading glitched out alot on her.
As an Amazon Employee, I already live in terror of Prime Day.
Atsuko is one of my newer favorite comedians, I’m more willing to believe the issues lie with how Amazon had stuff set up. She had a great appearance on Mayim Bialik’s podcast not too long ago.
I love Atsuko and I feel bad for her :/ What’s really getting me is Amazon owns Twitch, why did they not get help from their company that does live streaming? lmao
will never forget when i made a donation for Red Nose Day one time just to be nice and then suddenly the cashier began loudly ringing a bell to congratulate me and I panicked so hard.
i can’t believe they genuinely didn’t rehearse ANY of this…. even if it wasn’t the creators themselves rehearsing (which it should be), the fact that the box opening challenge was only a minute means they didn’t test it at ALL. i once did a student “town hall” for my county that probably had 10 viewers and even we rehearsed mic running and stuff. this is so embarrassing omg
i think if they just filmed it instead of a livestream it wouldve probably been 10x less awkward
I deleted TikTok last year for my mental health so it’s cool to hear the wacky stuff going on in the app without having to be in the center of it
Something to note about Atsuko is that she is a television writer, so hosting is probably something she needs to do more during the strike to earn a living. I’m not super familiar with her work, but I’ve enjoyed her as a guest on some of my favorite podcasts.
The host definitely wasn’t the issue, I’ve done livestreams and what she’s doing is she keeps trying to build up the energy but the setup of the actual show, and the people on it are failing, she’s doing her best to build off of what’s going on… I hope she gets cast on something more organized because honestly, she doesn’t deserve to be remembered for this
omg the rich hamptons girl. i cant be the only poor person who becomes overwhelmingly physically nauseated by witnessing expressions of grotesque wealth
17:29 Aside from the almost accidental blackface, the tiktoker saying “I’m very poor, I need the money guys” and Amazon cutting to “technical difficulties” genuinely made me laugh out loud. Like dystopia sci fi come to live. They darned shot that man around the back for speaking his financial stress and his servitude to the megacorp
