Side note while I keep watching — the eldest is not always the leader. It’s definitely based on personality qualities. Like in Enhypen, Jungwon is the second-youngest but is the leader, and does a good job of it too. Aaaaand going back to staring at Hongjoong now. (Also, the Ateez “Demon Line” gets me every time.)

Captain Hongjoong and Wooyoung are constantly fighting me for that bias spot 😭! They’re so perfect!
Hongjoong is the leader because he was the first and only trainee at his agency after writing to them after finding out that Block B was there. They built a group for him. They, especially Eden, gave him all sorts of challenges to try and get him to quit but when he didn’t they found others to form a group for him. It’s common to make the oldest but sometimes they have votes sometimes it changes each year.
Hongjoong is everybody’s type. His charisma, swagger, everything about him draws you in in a way that’s hard to describe, you just have to experience it yourself.
He’s part of the “Demon Line” in ATEEZ. He enjoys remaking his clothes and shoes. He paints them and adds things to them. He’s very artistic.
You might not see his leadership in this kind of edits, but when ATEEZ are in a variety shows or when he talks with his member, the charisma is oozing out… He balance the members very well. ANd yes, black hair Hongjoong is the best. In ATEEZ, we called him the Captain (not leader) because well their lore is a pirate…
In K-pop group, usually the oldest member are the leader however there are a lot of groups who picked their leader from the one who trained the longest. In ATEEZ’s case, Hongjoong is the first trainee in the company.
Hongjoong❤❤❤ he was the member who caught my eye first!! He has a great duality, and looks cute and pretty but is super fierce on stage. Hongjoong is one of the best leaders I know and knows when to be more stern and assertive in certain situations, but overall he is a kind leader and has a big heart.
