Fun fact, the song they were singing in the clip where they are on stage, Hongjoong wrote it to Seonghwa. It’s called „thank u“ (it’s my Favorit song because you can feel how much Hongjoong appreciates and loves Seonghwa in this song)

Seonghwa basically is a hygiene freak and cleans n cooks. He’s also the emotional support pillar of ateez and comforts the members a lot
Hongjoong disciplines them and scolds them when necessary as the leader and is quite affectionate
Because of this, Ateez members (always) and atiny (the fandom) call them MOM and DAD respectively.

FUN FACT: they went to see their horoscopes and the fortune teller said they are like an old married couple with hongjoong as the husband and seonghwa as the wife like talk about fate lol

This is a video that proves that editing matters. Our group parents here are edited to look SO unlike their usual back and forth vibe. It’s hilarious. I love that people put these together with this outcome/view in mind, because in context, so many of these things _didn’t happen like that_. Hong Joong being the group captain is going to give off some heavy leader/top vibes, and Seonghwa is really the only one older than him, and therefore the only one he can’t quiiiite bully into place, even if he wanted to. But at the same time, none of the clips showed Seonghwa being his sometimes chaotic self and Hong Joong being the adult in the room, and vice versa. But they really do give off a parental vibe overall, and while I love them together, I can’t wrap my mind around them together in a BL sense.

They went to a fortune teller, whom had said that Hongjoon had the “father” energy and Seonghwa the “mother” energy, to which all of Ateez collectively agreed that they fit those roles ♥️

As other people have mentioned, Hongjoong is “dad” and Seonghwa is “mom” of the group., Also, Hongjoong may be a cutie-pie, but he is called the “Tyrant Captain”, for very good reason. Added note, they call themselves “MATZ”. Seonghwa is the eldest, and Hongjoong is the second eldest and the leader of the Ateez. They were both born in ’98.
