Oh so representatives care about children safety when it is ONLINE… not safety from gun violence, that’s apparently fine. Good good, carry on

Mr. Chew handled himself very well despite these congressmen and congresswoman’s aggression towards him. Yes or no answer to a multi-layered question. How pathetic.

It really didn’t matter what the CEO said, everyone had already stated that they “don’t believe that”. He cpuld be lying through his teeth or telling the truth, it don’t really matter. Both parties already decided what they think.

I’m so embarrassed by these congressmen and their questions. They obviously don’t know what they’re talking about. Pupil dilation? 🤨

Oh god, the politicians don’t understand the techs, but at least they got their point of concerns across.. The deliberation will be rougher than I expected.

These congressmen must attend Internet 101 before asking questions. The “risks” that tiktok posts is no more than any social media platforms like YouTube or FB. They are there to accuse Tiktok and not to find out the truth. Guilty unless proven innocent is their approach.

Chew is shocked when he was asked if Tik Tok need to be connected to Wi-Fi. 😂
Chew: Ok, I didn’t expect these. I have prepared so many technical documents and facts that how Tik Tok is improving the data security.😂

When a group of bandits want to charge you, everything of you becomes guilty, but we all know the only reason is because you have valuable asset targeted by them…

God, congress has gone crazy. It’s time to sack them and bring in a new generation who knows what their talking about. How did these congressmen even get elected?

I don’t blame the guy for looking so confused about some of these stupid questions. Imagine being professional from another country, sentenced to represent your company among “leaders” of the strongest nation on the planet, and you’re hit with this kangaroo courtroom of morons.

This hearing widened my horizon. We didn’t know how stupid the US congressmen were until this hearing. Some American elites are so stupid, naive and ignorant.

It is a political trial rather than a hearing. The CEO spoke much much better than those biased and barbaric congressmen.

The congress definitely did not do enough research. How can they not know the CEO’s citizenship or where the company operates? They’re asking based on gossip, fear, and assumption. And how they deliver those questions?.. Damn secondhand embarrassment.

I think more than half of the congressmen/women probably don’t even know what is Tik Tok like. If they had asked their children or grand children to come with them to this, they probably can do better.

Using bully tactics to ban an app just because of their fear of the Chinese. The behaviour of these people at congress is vulgar and backward. Mr. Chew handled himself like a true leader and educated individual.

Politicians try to ask wild soundbite questions in these hearings to go viral because it’s good for their careers… The problem is here they’re so out of touch with the common sense of how these platforms and technology companies work that in the tech company hearings they just sound unprofessional, immature, and old. I wouldn’t want my grandma deciding the future of technology policy; why would I feel any more comfortable having someone else’s grandma deciding it instead?

Congress should be embarrassed. This is pathetic. Did they do any research. I admire Chew for his patience

Totally understand why Chew looks confused by the questions. 😂 The congressmen looks totally outdated but I truly admire their courage to broadcast this to the whole world.

I’m not even American but I legitimately feel second hand embarrassed for every US citizen since these are the people that make/dictate their laws…

Personally, I don’t use TikTok and never had! But, it’s sad to see such pathetic testing! When did US start caring about user data and privacy? I firmly believe that this is a deliberate move from US companies that have lobbied the congress to counter the growth of TikTok and ban altogether!

Mr. Shou has my whole heart. Super respectful guy. Super logical answers. Answering every question fully. I understand the concern from the congressmen but their questions are absolutely ridiculous. I also understand that pupil dilation can be a spec of many parts of data that form your identity that a government entity can collect, but as Mr. Shou said, they’re not collecting that, and the filter needs to know where your eyes are so it doesn’t show up on your left arm 😭.

It’s amazing how good they made the TIkTok CEO look. If you had told me he had paid them to look stupid I would believe you.

I could just imagine what’s running through Chew’s head as he’s answering these questions. “What are these imbeciles talking about.” Lol

The scariest thing is that they don’t know how stupid they are and the questions they ask, and they think they’re asking some tough questions, omg

返信する
Til_What?

The level of incompetence is actually impressive. None of the questions were asked in the right way and everything just made the CEO look good.

Props to the CEO for being patient and composed, committee had no idea what they were doing here😂😭

I feel bad for the CEO. He probably prepared a lot of data and mentally prepared himself to face some tough questions that day.
Never in his wildest dreams would he have thought to be asked if Tik Tok access the home wifi
😂🤣😂

As an IT professional, this honestly felt like when an elderly user asks me questions, but actively refuses to listen or understand my answers.
