It’s always so painful watching these politicians try to criticize technology that they don’t understand.

His answers are extremely good. He had it all prepared in advance, so it’s just damage mitigation at this point. He has a good team

Fun fact: Pornhub is not restricting any age group from their content. And congress has been totally fine with it.

I’m torn in that I hate the government deciding what the american people can and can’t consume. On top of that, parents need to take their responsibilities seriously. That said, letting a hostile power infiltrate our population to undermine it seems foolish.

His kids are being prepared for the world stage while ours are being dumbed down. Case and point, he is the CEO of a company that our kids use.

He is right though. It should be the responsibility of the parent not TikTok. Parents today are so bad they start blaming everyone else when their children grow up to be morons. If you can’t raise kids don’t go out making them.

So he pretty much put her in her place when he tells her that in other countries, they are more concerned with what their kids see or can post on TikTok then we are protective of our kids in the United States.

He has been well coached with questions and answers
The fact remains an eight year old, should be outside,
playing in the grass and the sunshine with their friends

Sick of companies and other organisations being told that they need to be responsible for children when that’s solely the parents’ responsibility (to a reasonable degree, ofc).

Parents. You need to talk to your children to make sure they understand the dangers of being online. Period. No law will help mitigate that danger. Make sure you know that your child is responsible enough to be on apps like TikTok.

If you’re the kind of person who’s thinks “It’s the states responsibility to content restrict my kid(s)” then you’ve already failed as a parent.

My child is 10 and it’s our responsibility to monitor her device and what apps she’s using. She’s not allowed on TikTok because we want to keep her from being exposed to something she’s not ready for. Same thing with Instagram. Parents become responsible for their children’s internet usage the minute they buy them a phone, tablet, or computer. This whole banning situation is not about protecting and caring for children. If it were then school shootings, child poverty, underfunded schools, foster system reform, free breakfast/lunch programs, etc would be a priority.

This isn’t even the CEO’s native language, but he sure speaks with more common sense than our politicians…

I love how congresswomen/men care about the children safety while let guns/drugs lose for full access by children of America. Nice job done.

You can’t complain about your kids being influenced by social media if you let internet raise your kids. I wasn’t allowed on social media until my 16 birthday and even then, I couldn’t just post anything. If I was bored, I would have to read a book. These people are lazy parents and are blaming a social media platform for their failures

This hearing has shown the world the lack of confidence and shamelessness of the United States government.

There’s so many other clips of him not even getting the chance to answer. All they’re doing is just criticizing and belittling him. Like, if you just want to say a lot of bogus things, go, say it to the wall. you want answers but you’re not letting him answer…
